With the Japanese international out of action, 33-year-old Raffaele Rubino is ready to step in against Genoa.
Rubino has been with Novara for many years and has already scored for them 16 times in Serie C2, 56 in Serie C1 and six in Serie B. If he nets today, he’ll set a new record by netting in four different Divisions for the same club.
“If Rubino does have the opportunity to step on to the field, it is only because he earned it with his efforts in training and certainly not to set a record,” noted the Coach.
“I am not picking Rubino to appease the fans, either. I think only of what is best for Novara and if Rubino is in good shape, then I’ll let him play regardless of how the fans feel.”
