Andrea Ranocchia believes he’ll stay at Inter next season after he was “resuscitated” in February.

The centre-back had struggled for form and playing time with new Coach Walter Mazzarri and the switch to a three-man defence.

However, he got back on track and is in Cesare Prandelli’s 30-man provisional Italy World Cup squad.

“How did my season go? I can say that in February I was literally resuscitated,” Ranocchia told Sportal.it.

“If I think about the situation I was in before then and how I managed to emerge from it, I’d give myself 10 out of 10.

“I really think that I will stay with the Nerazzurri next season too. I don’t know about a contract renewal, as I’ll only talk to the club once the campaign is concluded.”

Last Saturday Javier Zanetti said farewell to San Siro with his last competitive game after 19 years at the club, paving the way for a new role in the staff.

“I cried from start to finish,” confessed Ranocchia. “We are going to miss him so much, but we know that he’ll be with us often in the training camp and locker room.”
