The new tactician was appointed on Friday and is reunited with several of his former Genoa players, including Diego Milito, Thiago Motta and Ranocchia.
“I never understood why Genoa fired him mid-season,” the 23-year-old defender told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I owe so much to the Coach, because I was out injured for a long time and he immediately put his faith in me, despite the fact at the start I struggled to understand his ideas.
“In terms of personality and work ethic, Gasperini reminds me of Antonio Conte, who I worked with at Bari. Both are very focused on details, are fiery and determined.
“He uses recordings of games to prepare for a match and never makes a scene. If he has something to tell you, he does it in private, but if necessary he'll pin you to the wall!”
The new Inter tactician can use a 3-4-3 system or a 4-3-3, so it remains to be seen how he'll set out the team.
“Everyone starts on the same level with Gasperini, so although Walter Samuel is back, I think I'll have a chance of getting some regular playing time.
“We'll feel a big loss with the departure of Marco Materazzi, though. He was like a big brother to me and now Yuto Nagatomo will be sad, as he's got nobody to mess about with in the locker room anymore.”
