Andrea Ranocchia felt Inter deserved to win the Milan Derby and slammed the officials for contentious decisions.
Both sides had a goal disallowed in the 0-0 draw, for an Alex offside position and Rodrigo Palacio push, but the Nerazzurri also had penalty appeals for a handling offence.
“They disallowed a goal and said there was a foul, I didn’t see it. The worst thing was the penalty, as it was shocking. So obvious. What are all these officials doing here if they can’t see that?” Ranocchia told Sky Sport Italia.
“You can’t fail to see a penalty like that in a derby. It weighs too heavily on the outcome. Too heavily.”
The incident in question was a Luca Antonelli handling offence, but it was from point-blank range on Hernanes, so the officials may well have seen it and considered it to be involuntary.
It looks as if neither side will qualify for Europe, so are the regrets that Inter didn’t play with this determination throughout the campaign?
“Yes, there are regrets and it’s a bit late to turn things around this season. We will aim to honour the jersey the way it deserves to be honoured.”
