Andrea Ranocchia committed his future to Inter “until 2029” and warned Zdenek Zeman’s Cagliari can pose a danger.

It kicks off on Sunday at 14.00 UK time (13.00 GMT), click here for a match preview.

“This is a difficult game and a balanced League,” said the centre-back in a Press conference.

“Zeman’s teams always struggle at the start, but then they get into gear. I’ve faced his sides before and you need to stand up to the wave, as they attack in droves.

“We need to be careful, but we are also in good shape and want to prove it. San Siro is our home and it’s only right those visiting it are fearful. We’ll study their strikers carefully.”

The Nerazzurri have conceded only one goal in all competition so far this season, a huge improvement from last term.

“It is a team concept, as if everyone helps out then it is easier for us at the back. When a team keeps a clean sheet, the credit goes to everyone.

“I haven’t seen any huge changes from last season. There must not be any untouchables in the line-up, as we are playing every three days and need to maintain the same team mentality.

“We have quality players in every role and that does make a difference. We always create scoring opportunities, regardless of possession.”

It has been a great campaign so far for Ranocchia, who has inherited the captain’s armband from Javier Zanetti.

“I am happy to have gone through difficult times, as defeats help you to grow in a remarkable way. Now after four years I feel ready to win. The armband gave me more responsibility and helped me mature.

“I think I’ll sign the contract renewal within 10 days. I would gladly have signed until 2029, but I’d be too old! I have no other ideas for my future and I want to stay here for a long time.”
