Claudio Ranieri celebrates Inter’s third straight Serie A victory, but admits he’d “never seen the team make so many mistakes.”

The Nerazzurri scraped a 1-0 win over Cesena at the Stadio Manuzzi with Andrea Ranocchia’s glancing header, but they escaped numerous dangers.

“We got so many passes wrong, as I had never seen the team make so many mistakes. Evidently the synthetic turf caught us by surprise,” said the Coach.

“These are difficult games and ones where you have to suffer. It’s tough to win at Cesena, so we are very happy with the result.

“Let us not bother with the performance and just take the three points. Cesena were pressuring us all over the field.

“At the start of the season we conceded too many goals, but now we all work hard when out of possession, so we are more solid at the back. Lucio, Walter Samuel and Ranocchia are also rediscovering their form.”

Inter climb back up to fifth place with this win, as it's the first time in seven months they have won three Serie A games on the bounce, and must reconsider their objectives for the campaign.

“Are we challenging for the Champions League spaces? No, Inter are challenging for ourselves. We have gone into these debates too many times. We cannot afford to look beyond the next game, then we’ll see where we are in the spring.”
