Motta, whose contract expires in June 2013, has admitted that he is prepared to move if the outfit agree to his sale.
However, Ranieri has made it clear that he doesn’t expect to be deprived of the 29-year-old over the next 48 hours.
“I have no fear that he will leave,” the tactician noted. “I’m convinced that the boy will stay here with us.
“The club have assured me that he will not move until June at the earliest.”
Speculation this morning suggests that Motta could be sold at the end of the season and be replaced by Fredy Guarin.
The Porto midfielder may actually arrive on loan in January before being signed outright in the summer.
