Two foreign clubs expressed an interest in signing Fabio Quagliarella of Juventus in January, his representative has revealed.

“Russian side Zenit and Villarreal of Spain were interested in him,” Beppe Bozzo said in an interview with TMW.

“However, Quagliarella has always wanted to remain at Juventus and end his career in the black and white jersey.

“The club also have no intention of selling him either.”

Quagliarella, 28, has returned to full fitness this season after being sidelined for six months in 2011 with knee ligament damage.

However, he’s not assured of first team football and has only scored two goals in 14 League games so far under Antonio Conte.

“Fabio struggled at the start of the campaign for consistency, but now he is charged up and waiting for his opportunity,” Bozzo continued.

“When that time comes then he will give a great contribution to the club.”

Quagliarella is being tipped to start on the bench in tonight’s re-arranged Serie A tie at Bologna.
