Milan have confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race to sign Carlos Tevez from Manchester City.
The Rossoneri were thought to be in pole position for the Argentine forward after agreeing personal terms with the South American.
However, the Italian club’s request to take the player on loan with a summer buy-out option has yet to be accepted by the Premiership side.
In the meantime, the French giants have made a move for the former West Ham and Manchester United man.
“I can confirm that Paris SG have inserted themselves into this,” Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani commented.
“Nevertheless, our offer won’t change for him as a result and we’ll try until the very end to get Tevez here.
“Our objective is to sign him and have him train with us in Dubai during the winter break,” continued the former Lega Calcio chief.
“We’re waiting for a response to our offer, but there is time until the January transfer window closes.”
The Italian champions are looking for a new attacking threat given that Antonio Cassano may miss the rest of the season following heart surgery.
“Catania’s Maxi Lopez? He is of interest to us, but I can confirm that Tevez is our first choice and we’ll keep trying for him,” Galliani concluded.
Some other reports in Italy today also claim that Juventus are showing an interest in the available international.
