The Grifone had spent millions on the transfer market this season and had European ambitions, but with six rounds to go find themselves fourth from bottom.
“In order to save ourselves, we need to pick up seven points in the next five games. We can do that,” Preziosi told Secolo XIX newspaper.
“At this moment a protest is of no use to anyone, as we must only stay united. There’s no point putting anyone up on trial, whether it’s a Coach, player or President. Clearly at the end of the season we’ll evaluate the situation and then those who made errors will pay.”
Preziosi chopped and changed during the campaign, as he axed Alberto Malesani in December only to recall him this month after sacking replacement Pasquale Marino.
“I did not fire Marino because I didn’t have faith in his abilities, but just because after nine games without a win the team had totally lost confidence.”
