Italy boss Cesare Prandelli has confirmed that he will be keeping an eye on Marco Borriello following his move to Juventus.
The striker will spend the rest of the season on loan in Turin after failing to break into the first team plans of Luis Enrique at the Stadio Olimpico.
“Borriello is a player with great quality,” Prandelli, who is preparing for Euro 2012, told Tuttosport on Thursday.
“He’s been a part of the Italy squad before and I’ll watch him over the next few months as I did in the past.
“I hope that he can find the continuity in his performances at Juventus which he didn’t have at Roma. He’s a complete player and I would have liked to have coached him at club level.
“We will certainly monitor everyone, especially those at Juventus given that the club have an Italian policy.
“I’m certain that he’ll be very motivated to do well in the black and white shirt.”
The former Milan striker has won seven caps for his country, but only two of those have come under Prandelli.
He was used for 74 minutes in the 0-0 draw at Northern Ireland in 2010 and played in the second half of the 1-1 draw against Germany in February last year.
