Cesare Prandelli admits he will wait until the last minute for Antonio Cassano when picking the Euro 2012 squad.
“We are waiting for Antonio to be given the all-clear by medical staff,” explained the Italy Coach.
“In the moment when he gets that news, he will have a huge burst of energy and passion. We will wait for him.”
The Milan striker has been out since suffering a mini-stroke and undergoing surgery for a congenital heart defect in October.
Despite the long injury list, the Rossoneri are still top of the table in a Scudetto duel with Juventus.
“It gets more and more fascinating. Both Milan and Juventus will fight to the very end for the title.”
Prandelli also commented on the Lega Serie A’s decision to reject his request for a mid-season get-together of Italy players.
“I am still waiting for official response, but over the last few days I received some very positive messages. I believe at the end of the day there will be a decision dictated by good common sense from everyone.”
