Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is now an apparent target for Manchester City, according to reports in the British Press.
The young Frenchman has only recently signed a new contract with the Bianconeri, which ties the 21-year-old to the Italian champions until 2019.
However, The Times reports that City have grown increasingly unhappy with the performances of Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure, and will jettison the former Barcelona man in the summer.
They suggest that this will be in preparation for a move for either Pogba or Everton’s Ross Barkley as his replacement.
The Citizens are owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose personal wealth is estimated at over €21bn, with the Sheikh’s family believed to be worth over €800bn.
So, the Times believes that while Juventus would be sure to demand a huge fee for Pogba, that wouldn’t present a problem for the Premier League champions.
Pogba joined the Old Lady from City’s local rivals Manchester United, and made his 100th appearance in Bianconero during Tuesday’s win over Olympiacos.
