Paul Pogba said his winning strike for Juventus against Olympiacos “came by itself.”
The Frenchman turned around a game his side had been losing 2-1 only a minute earlier for the 3-2 victory.
“It’s true that it was a very important match we needed to win. The goal came by itself, I was trying to pass and it came off the defender back into my path, so I shot,” Pogba told Sky Sport Italia.
“We missed a penalty and football is like that, but we know that we have to keep going like we did today and try to win every game.
“The new system didn’t change that much, as we were still three in the middle with just Arturo in a more advanced role. We tested it out in training.”
It was a must-win game for Juventus and a fourth goal would’ve given them the upper hand in terms of head-to-head record with Olympiacos.
“We know that you can’t joke around in the Champions League and we have to learn that we cannot let go even for a second.”
Juve are now joint second with Olympiacos on six points, while Atletico Madrid have nine.
