The Chilean limped off the pitch in yesterday's Europa League game against Roma, and looks unlikely to return in time for the Serie A game on Monday.

La Viola released a statement on their site today revealing the nature of his injury.

“Fiorentina communicates that the diagnostic tests on Chilean player David Pizarro, performed after the muscular problem that surfaced in the game against Roma, revealed a first-degree injury to the thigh,” reads the statement.

“The Viola midfielder will undergo the appropriate therapy for seven days, when he will be re-examined.”
