The new coach had predicted the Old Lady would face one of the two teams from Genoa and got it right, as Sampdoria travel to Turin for the opener in Serie A Week 1.
“Finally, today we know where we will start the championship,” Pirlo told the club’s official website. “With my staff we had hypothesised the first match against one of the two Genoa teams, and we will in fact face Sampdoria at home.
“We hope we can have fans in the stands because we will need them. Analysing further is useless, because we have to face all of them in a tough Serie A, from start to finish.”
