The Rosanero could only draw 2-2 at home against FC Thun and that was only courtesy of an injury time goal by Fabrizio Miccoli.
"We deserved the draw," said the summer arrival from Chievo. "The side did everything they could to draw level.
"Fortunately we did thanks to a great goal from Miccoli who deserves his ovation from the Stadio Barbera crowd.
"I thank the fans who supported us through the difficult moments.
"We'll go to Switzerland sure in the knowledge that we can get through. We'll have another week of training in our legs and we have the desire to go far in Europe."
