Stefano Pioli faces Novara on his Bologna debut and warns “I want the first answers after 10 intense days of work.”

The Coach was drafted in before the break for international duty to replace Pier Paolo Bisoli, who managed just one point from five games.

“These were 10 intense days of work and I found a very united group of players,” said Pioli.

“I liked the way the team was open to my ideas and ready to work hard. I tried to transmit some simple and effective concepts that I'd like to see put into practice during the game.

“We worked on some clear and relatively easy tactical situations that can be assimilated quickly. This team hasn't won for too long and it badly affected their self-esteem.

“We are working to bring quality to our football, but what counts more than anything else right now is keeping it simple and effective.”

Pioli is thrown straight into a relegation dogfight against newly-promoted Novara.

“It won't be easy, because Novara are a well-drilled outfit who attack with intensity, especially down the flanks. We must try to be as solid as possible, above all in possession.

“I want the first answers from the squad now in terms of performance, spirit and attitude.”
