“We know that tomorrow is an important game for us and the team is well aware of how we need to approach it,” said the Coach in a Press conference.
“We need to be sharp, because Sassuolo are a tough side to face. Our philosophy will not change, as we have an identity.”
Lazio were bottom of the table last week, but a 4-0 victory at Palermo with a Filip Djordjevic hat-trick turned their season around.
“I have many quality players in my squad and this team is capable of fighting for a place in Europe. That means our current position in the table does not suit us.
“I saw Djordjevic very determined and concentrated. He emerged from Palermo with a lot more confidence, but he knows that in Italy it’s very difficult for a striker.
“I expect a positive performance tomorrow too, whether or not he gets a hat-trick.”
Keita Balde Diao’s agent warned this week he could push for a January exit if he continues to be benched, but Pioli would not promise more playing time.
“Keita has everything it takes to become a truly great player, but I have to make my decisions.”
