Stefano Pioli notes Bologna tried their best to beat Juventus and had the opportunities to do so. “It was a vibrant and intense match.”
Marco Di Vaio’s opener was cancelled out by Mirko Vucinic in today’s 1-1 draw, originally snowed off on February 12.
“I have to say it was a very vibrant and intense match with great play from individuals. We played very well in the first half, while after the break Juventus reacted and we went too deep.
“I have to praise my players, who showed great effort after a tiring game like the one against Novara at the weekend.
“We have certain characteristics and forwards with real quality, but everyone has to play with humility and hard work to allow them to do their thing.
“Our intention was to win it at the end and after a difficult start to the second half we did cause them real problems in the one-on-one. This team is here, it has faith and it can achieve important things.
“We made a small step forward and now have to think about Lazio.”
