Chile and Cagliari striker Mauricio Pinilla assures they are “not remotely afraid of Brazil” ahead of today’s World Cup clash.

The Round of 16 encounter begins in Belo Horizonte at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

“It is going to be a difficult game,” confessed Pinilla to TuttoMondiali.it.

“We are facing the team that everyone considers the favourites, but we won’t make a drama out of it because, to be honest, we’re not remotely afraid of Brazil.”

Chile knocked World and European champions Spain out of the tournament in the group phase.

However, they have injury concerns with Gary Medel of Cardiff City dealing with a muscular problem and Juventus star Arturo Vidal still not at 100 per cent after knee surgery.

“Arturo is ready to play,” said Chile Coach Jorge Sampaoli in a Press conference.

“Towards the end of the season with Juventus, he played in the Europa League when he was only 30 per cent fit. Today he is still nowhere near 100 per cent but we all agree that he has to play.”
