Tottenham players and fans paid tribute to fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone prior to their game against Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton today.

The 62-year-old passed away on Thursday in Naples due to fulminant leukaemia.

He was part of Antonio Conte’s staff and one of the most prominent fitness coaches in Italy, having worked with Conte, Marcello Lippi and Fabio Cannavaro, among others.

Tottenham players and fans paid tribute to the former Juventus staff member today, during the warm-up of their away game at Brighton.

Players wore a t-shirt that read ‘Always in our hearts, Gian Piero’ while fans in the away end brought several Italian flags which they unveiled after a minute of applause to remember the 62-year-old.
