Inter defender Alvaro Pereira admits tomorrow will be “a very special game” for him against his former club Cluj.
The Nerazzurri have drawn the Romanians in the Europa League Round of 32, playing the first leg at San Siro on Thursday at 20.05 GMT.
“I remember everything from that experience,” said Alvaro Pereira in his Press conference.
“It was my first European team and I will always have fond memories of them. I left behind teammates and friends in Romania, so it will be a very special game for me tomorrow.”
The Uruguayan came to Cluj for €2.2m in July 2008, then left a year later to join Porto for €5.7m and Inter paid €8.8m in August 2012.
“I feel great and had told you that Inter were yet to see the real Pereira. I adapted well, am relaxed and am waiting for the Coach to decide whether or not I’ll play.
“The important thing is to work for the team and do it in the best way possible. The change of system is not a problem for me, as I have played with a three-man defence for Uruguay and have the characteristics to play in a 4-3-3 too.”
