It is speculated that the 73-year-old, who was President and owner from 1984 to 1995, before selling to Moratti, is gathering a group of entrepreneurs to buy out Moratti’s current stake, should he opt against recapitalising his shares.
Tuttosport report that Erick Thohir has previously gone to Pellegrini for advice and that the two could meet in the coming days to discuss the latter’s intentions to join the board.
