“It’s a step backwards for us, even compared to the defeat with Roma. The team must continue to believe in itself, because there are still so many chances we can make the most of to pick up points.
“Today we had less enthusiasm than usual and showed very little character. When you face teams who pass the ball as well as Sampdoria, you end up getting pinned back. You have to be united, solid and clear-headed.”
