Fabio Pecchia was unhappy that Kalidou Koulibaly’s opening goal for Napoli against Verona was allowed to stand.
The struggling Scaligeri were holding the Serie A leaders in the second half of their match at the San Paolo.
Defender Koulibaly finally broke the deadlock by nodding in a corner, but Pecchia believes goalkeeper Antonio Caracciolo was pushed.
“I saw what happened. We could have conceded a goal but not in that manner,” the Verona boss lamented after the eventual 2-0 defeat.

“The goalkeeper was in the six-yard box and he cannot be touched. I have seen the replay, there is a block on Nicolas and a foul on Caracciolo.
“After the goal it became difficult. We could have done more in our management of the spaces.
“I am sorry because our quality is better than our performance today.”
Pecchia was asked whether he is concerned by the revivial of Benevento, who have won their last two games as they start to claw their way back into contention for survival.
“It’s obviously a worry, but we need to look at the teams ahead of us.
“Three teams go down, so our mini-League contains other teams as well.”
