Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti would be happy to join Euro 2016 as a sub: 'Anything for the Azzurri'.

The call-up for Italy's training camp represents the first contact with the senior national team for the 27-year-old, who is hoping to impress Coach Antonio Conte.

“I'm being careful about every detail, I was struck by the way Conte works,” he told the Press. “You can tell he has an idea of where to take this team.

“I wouldn't have a problem with being a sub in France. When you're playing for the national team, you've got to be in their service.”

The striker was then asked about Genoa, and whether Coach Gian Piero Gasperini may depart in the summer.

“We don't know what the president and the Coach are going to do. We developed together with him, and seeing Genoa without Gasperini would be painful.

“My models? I think [Luca] Toni is the player I resemble the most. The market? I can't think about the future now, I'm with the national team.

“I'm not in the Coach's list of priorities. I'd say I have a 25 per cent chance of being selected,” he said, echoing his teammate Marco Sportiello.

“I can't think of things like the World Cup, for now I'm only focused on this experience.

“My idols were [Marco] Van Basten and [Jean-Pierre] Papin, as my family was all made up of Milanisti.”
