The approach though, suggests that Giampiero Ventura’s men are already thinking about life after Alessio Cerci, who has been heavily linked with a switch away.
Atletico Madrid, Milan and now Arsenal are all thought to be keen on the Italy winger, and Torino’s move for Pato looks likely to be an admission that they won’t keep the attacker this summer.
However, the Turinese outfit will have to look elsewhere, with the perennially-injured forward staying put in Brazil.
