The due diligence process into Parma's debts is 50 per cent complete, says the accountant behind President Giampietro Manenti.
The Ducali are sliding closer and closer to bankruptcy as their goods are being seized or sent to auction and their players are reportedly on the verge of serving notice.
Andrea Galimberti, the accountant hired by Manenti to handle the transfer of the ownership from Rezart Taci in early February, says he is still at work to clear the situation, but claims he is making progress.
“My task is simply that of carrying out a due diligence [a legal investigation] of the patrimony and the economic data surrounding Parma,” he said today to TGParma.
“So far my work is at 50 per cent and I'm hoping to finish it within 10 days.”
Manenti's claim was that the due diligence had already been carried out, but Galimberti sounded perplexed at the idea.
“Well, let's say that a part of it could have been carried out, but not the whole thing.
“Manenti guaranteed, along with the other share-holders, that at the end of the job I'd have been remunerated.
“But the only guarantee I have is his word. I haven't heard him today.
“I understand the current state of mind, but I'm confident that the situation can take a turn for the better and reach a happy end.
“I won't be joining Manenti in his meetings with the prosecutor though. That's a matter for his lawyer, not for his accountant.”
