Leandro Paredes vows “I won’t pass up the opportunity to play” ahead of Roma’s Europe League match against Astra Giurgiu on Thursday.

Standing in Roma’s way of a first Europa League win is Astra, who have eliminated West Ham United from the playoff round in the last two seasons, prompting Paredes to believe the Romanians will not be an easy touch.

“We have to add malice and gain confidence in order to move forward. With these factors, we can do very well,” the midfielder said at a Press conference.

“We have to add malice and gain confidence in order to move forward. With these factors, we can do very well,” the midfielder said at a Press conference.

“We must always be focused, we’ve never had easy games. We think we’re working well, and we’ll have to do so tomorrow.

“It was a tough defeat to Torino, but we’ll do better tomorrow. We have to get the three points as they’re important for us.

“I thank Spalletti for his words. I try to do my best to help the team and I’ll try to do better.

“A player always wants to play, but we have a very good midfield and there are many games to address. I won’t pass up the opportunity to play.

“We haven’t spoken to Bogdan about Astra, but if we’re 100 percent focused and ready to win, I don’t think we’ll be in danger. Still, we’ll have to give everything and try to do well.

“I expect a tough game like all we’ve played in so far. It’ll be difficult, but we’ll do our best to take home the three points.

“That’s what we want, to do well and win in order to be in the best shape for Sunday’s game against Inter.

“I can still learn a lot in every aspect, but I’ll try to do so, it’s what I want, in every game and every training session, for the good of Roma.

“We’ll try to be focused forever. We’re playing in Rome and we have to move forward in the best way possible.”
