An injury sustained by Abel Hernandez is less serious than first thought – yet Palermo will still be without him for at least a month.

There were suggestions that the Uruguayan international could be sidelined for up to 12 weeks because of a muscle problem.

Hernandez has undergone a series of tests which have confirmed damage to his left thigh, but not as bad as was first feared.

The Stadio Barbera outfit have said that Hernandez is expected to be out of action for between 30 and 40 days.

Hernandez, three goals in nine Serie A games this season, is the club’s joint top scorer alongside captain Fabrizio Miccoli.
