Juventus announced they have sold Leonardo Spinazzola to Roma for €29.5m, while purchasing Luca Pellegrini for €22m.
Both players had their medicals over the weekend and the transfers were confirmed after midnight, Italian time.
In the case of both Spinazzola and Pellegrini, the payment is to be spread out over three financial years.
They both signed contracts to June 2023.
To all intents and purposes, the deal is Spinazzola to Roma for Pellegrini plus €7.5m cash.

Juve confirm in their statement that the sale of Spinazzola qualifies as a profit of €26.6m.
“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that these agreements have been finalised with AS Roma S.p.A.:
“Definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Luca Pellegrini for a consideration of €22 million payable in three financial years.
“Juventus and the player have signed a four-year contract of employment until June 2023;
“Definitive disposal of the registration rights of the player Leonardo Spinazzola for a consideration of €29.5 million to be paid in three financial years. The economic effect is positive for about €26.6 million.”
