Xherdan Shaqiri is officially an Inter player, after the club confirmed his signature on its website.

The Swiss international joins the Nerazzurri on a six-month loan deal, with a permanent transfer agreed for the summer.

The transfer is thought to be worth around €15m in total, with the former Bayern Munich man training with his new teammates today ahead of a possible debut at home to Genoa on Sunday.

“FC Internazionale announces that it has reached an agreement with the Swiss international Xherdan Shaqiri until 30 June 2019,” a statement on Inter’s website confirmed.

“The club extends a warm welcome to Shaqiri. We would also like to thank FC Bayern Munich and the FIGC for their help in completing the deal positively and quickly."
