Juventus have officially purchased Turkish defender Merih Demiral from Sassuolo for €18m, with a contract to June 2024.
A statement was released this evening confirming the deal, which has been largely done for several weeks now.
“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that the agreement with U.S. Sassuolo Calcio S.r.l. for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Merih Demiral has been finalized for a consideration of € 18 million payable in four financial years.

“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that the agreement with U.S. Sassuolo Calcio S.r.l. for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Merih Demiral has been finalized for a consideration of € 18 million payable in four financial years.
“Juventus and the player have signed a 5-year contract of employment until 30 June 2024.”
Demiral only turned 21 in March, but already has six senior caps for Turkey.
He joined Sassuolo from Alanyaspor on loan with option to buy for €7m in January 2019, making an immediate impression, including two Serie A goals.
