Yann Sommer has completed his transfer from Bayern Munich to Inter, while the Nerazzurri work on a swap with Sampdoria for Emil Audero.

The Switzerland international was always their first target to replace Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic, with the first sold to Manchester United and the second released from his contract.

Negotiations with Bayern Munich dragged on for weeks until Inter finally agreed to pay the €6m set by the release clause, but they did manage to get a better payment schedule over two years.

The 34-year-old flew in from Munich over the weekend and had his medical tests before putting pen to paper on the contract to June 2026.

Meanwhile, Inter still need a second goalkeeper and they have approached Sampdoria for Audero with an interesting proposal, as confirmed by agent Tullio Tinti.

It would be a loan with option to buy, while Samp would also get youth team shot-stopper Filip Stankovic on loan.

He is the son of former Sampdoria coach and ex-Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic.
