Now calciomercato.it is reporting that the deal has hit a snag, with Napoli offering a €500,000 loan with an option to buy at €3m.
While Standard are open to a loan, they want to include several clauses which would turn the option to buy into an obligation.
These could be linked to achievements by the team, but the Belgian side are particularly keen to have an appearance clause.
Ochoa remains the Partenopei’s first choice, especially as they cannot pay the wages of Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet.
The Serie A side offered a loan which would have seen the Reds pay some of his salary, but that was immediately rejected.
Francesco Bardi of Frosinone and Milan’s Gabriel are lower-cost alternatives.
