Milan forward Fernando Torres is not a target for Bundesliga side Schalke, despite reports in Germany earlier this week.

On Tuesday Bild reported that the 30-year-old was being targeted by new Schalke boss Roberto Di Matteo, as he looks to lift his side from their current mid-table position.

Turin-based sports daily Tuttosport, reported on Wednesday that such a move would be possible were Chelsea to rescind Torres’ loan deal, as the World Cup winner has not played an official match for the Stamford Bridge club.

FIFA regulations prevent players from playing for more than two clubs in one season.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio’s website today reports that not only are Schalke not interested in Torres, the Milan No 9 has no desire to move to Germany.

The website reports that there has been no contact between the parties, and Torres will remain at Milan.
