Torino President Urbano Cairo has silenced rumours that Italian international centre-back Angelo Ogbonna is off to Milan.
Reports suggested the Rossoneri would swoop for the 24-year-old to fill the void left by Thiago Silva’s imminent departure to Paris Saint-Germain, possibly by offering Djamel Mesbah to tempt the newly promoted side.
However, Cairo is not thinking along the same lines.
“I’ve never spoken with [Milan Vice President Adriano] Galliani about Ogbonna”, the outspoken patron reported to Sky Sport.
“Does this mean Mesbah won’t be coming here also? No, unless it is a ‘no’ from the player to refuse us as a destination.
“We are interested in Mesbah, but he must be happy to come here.”
