Nilton’s rumoured move to Inter is off, Cruzeiro’s general manager has confirmed this afternoon.
The midfielder was widely thought to be on his way to San Siro, with a €5m move reportedly all-but agreed.
However, the Brazilian club’s board member has revealed that talks regarding the move have been cancelled.
“NIlton is in Brazil and will join the group on Thursday to play the match against Corinthians,” Valdir Barbosa told reporters.
“The agreement with Inter has been cancelled because of their proposal to pay in instalments.
“That wasn’t accepted by our sporting director Alexandre Mattos, so Nilton remains our player.”
