The head of the Italian referees’ association, Marcello Nicchi, hits back at Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, hinting he could be charged by the FIGC.

The Partenopei patron claimed that if Maurizio Sarri’s side finish within six points of Juventus they’ll been robbed of the Scudetto, insisting officiating errors cost them eight points.

“In my opinion such statements aren’t worthy of any comment,” Nicchi, head of the AIA said on Radio Sportiva.

“The Federation’s prosecutor wants to evaluate the Napoli President’s statements.

“VAR? The balance is positive and everyone can see that, so much so that everyone wants to emulate us and is coming to study with us.

“If in 5 months we have achieved these important results, I think we can limit these few errors next year.

“I won’t say that it’ll get to no errors, but very close. It has brought serenity, justice and respect for the rules.”
