M’Baye Niang has pledged to stay with the club despite reported interest from PSG. “There is only Milan for me.”
The 18-year-old gave an interview in a Google Hangout this evening and proved he has no lack of ambition at San Siro.
“There is only Milan for me. Yes, I was born in Paris and I like Paris Saint-Germain, but I want to win everything here, starting from the Champions League.
“At the start I struggled because Italian football is very tactical and physical, but everything is fine now. Milan are a great club and I love many things about them. Everyone here helps you out. I need to learn a lot from the Coach and his staff.
“When I played for Caen, my objective was to join a big club. Today I am at Milan and hope to stay as long as possible.”
Niang was asked whether he enjoyed being compared to Thierry Henry.
“No, I am a long way off him yet. He achieved so much and I have to work hard, but my objective is to become better than Henry.”
He almost made a huge impact in the Champions League when his effort hit the woodwork at Camp Nou, when Milan were still 2-1 up on aggregate.
“I was unlucky in Barcelona, but I am still young and can make up for it in another game at that level. Barcelona is in the past and I don’t think about that game anymore.
“As for in Serie A, I really don’t want to lose against Inter, even if truth be told I want to win against everyone we face.”
Niang, Stephan El Shaarawy and Mario Balotelli have become known as the ‘Mohican Trident’ due to their similar hairstyles.
“I have stripes round my head now and got rid of the star. I always watch Balotelli, as he never gets it wrong from penalties or free kicks.
“I always watch myself back to see what I didn’t do properly. I don’t watch back the good things. Now there are many young players at Milan and we needed until January to find the right set-up.”
