The official Napoli radio station claims Gonzalo Higuain “will almost certainly join Arsenal for €50m plus Olivier Giroud” to avoid him going to Juventus.
The striker has a €94m release clause in his contract and his agent – also his brother – declared this month that there will not be a renewal because the team isn’t strong enough to compete for silverware.

The striker has a €94m release clause in his contract and his agent – also his brother – declared this month that there will not be a renewal because the team isn’t strong enough to compete for silverware.
Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli is the official radio station of the club and host Francesco Marciano made his suggestion this afternoon.
“At the moment the rumour linking Higuain to Juve is true, but I am certain that in the end Pipita will leave Napoli to go abroad.
“He will almost certainly join Arsenal. For now the Gunners are offering €50m plus Giroud. Arsenal are trying to free up funds by selling players so they can increase the economic part of the proposal.”
Napoli have implied they will not negotiate, so are only prepared to sell Higuain if someone activates the €94m release clause.
However, if the choice is between reinforcing their Serie A rivals Juventus or sending Higuain to Arsenal, Aurelio De Laurentiis will certainly opt for the latter.
The Argentine shattered Serie A records going back to the 1960s by scoring 36 goals in just 35 games last season.
