Pepe Reina is content with Napoli’s start to the season despite their League defeats to the two teams ahead of them in the standings.

The Azzurri are third in Serie A, three points shy of Italian champions Juventus and four behind surprise leaders Roma.

“We have to just continue on this path and we’ll certainly go far,” the goalkeeper, on loan from Liverpool, told Sky Sport Italia.

“Napoli are playing well as a whole. We are not that far behind a Roma side who are having a great season by virtually winning all of their games.”

The Giallorossi have won 10 and drawn two of their opening 12 matches.

Reina has been an important figure at the Stadio San Paolo, but he is not the only Spaniard who is making an impact.

“Jose Callejon is performing great,” he added. “For this reason, and because of where he plays on the pitch, I won’t exclude the fact that he could become useful to the national team again ahead of the World Cup.”

Callejon, an attacking midfielder, has scored seven goals in 16 games for the Italian outfit.
