Napoli will reportedly offer Dries Mertens a one-year extension on his current contract, tying him to the San Paolo until 2021.

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Belgian forward will meet with Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli after the final game of the season with Bologna to finalise the deal.

The paper reports that Coach Carlo Ancelotti was happy with the 32-year-old’s recent form and asked for his confirmation for next term.

Mertens has scored 17 times in all competitions for the Azzurri this season and is fourth in the all-time top scorers' list with 107, 14 behind Marek Hamsik.
