Although his agent has insisted that they have not spoken to any other clubs, calciomercato.com is suggesting that Napoli have been in touch.
Chivu, who currently earns €3.5m a season at San Siro, will be offered a contract worth €2.5m net – around €300,000 more a season than Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
The Stadio San Paolo outfit are apparently prepared to offer the former Roma and Ajax player a four-year deal.
Chivu, who has been mainly used as a left-back at San Siro, would seemingly be a good fit in Walter Mazzarri’s three-man defence.
