Napoli have been involved in a Twitter spat with Sport Mediaset journalist Paolo Bargiggia after he claimed Carlo Ancelotti was too old.
The exchange began when Bargiggia suggested Napoli were wrong to hire Ancelotti towards the end of his managerial career.
“More than the players, Napoli should bring in a Coach who isn’t at the end of their career like Carlo Ancelotti and who still coaches to lend a hand to his long line of collaborators.
“The gesture is commendable. I may be wrong, but I repeat what I wrote last season.”

That prompted the Partenopei to reply: “Here’s what can come from a journalist in their prime of their career…”
Fans flocked to the tweet to praise their club for taking such a stance.
Bargiggia, known to audiences in Italy for his bushy beard, followed up: “Here’s what can come from a club who see ghosts everywhere, who have encirclement syndrome and who take themselves too seriously without having performed any adequate analysis of reality.”
