The striker played in the Italy-Romania friendly but had to walk out before the end after a clash with a defender.
Gabbiadini flew back to Naples immediately, while the doctor of the Italy national team Enrico Castellacci confirmed his injury with Radio CRC.

“I can confirm a sprain to the left ankle,” he said. “We didn't start any instrumental analyses as Napoli's staff asked that the player fly back at once, and he'll undergo those exams with them.
“We only sent out the paperwork from the initial examinations after the game, as agreed with the club.”
A statement on the recovery times may be expected after Napoli finish their own exams.
