The Pipita is being targeted by numerous international clubs, and while the interest of Liverpool seems speculative, other parties such as Paris Saint-Germain seem more serious about signing him.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis won't be happy even if the Parisians pay the €94m clause, and as a consequence he is looking to offer an extraordinary contract to his number one star.
Rai Sport originally reported of a €7m yearly offer for Higuain, and La Repubblica are now confirming the story, but marginally increasing the projected salary to €7.5m.
The original report by Rai Sport also says that the release clause would be lowered from €94m to €70m, but this is not mentioned in La Repubblica.
The new contract would represent a record-shattering deal for Napoli, and would make Higuain the highest-paid player in Serie A, above Daniele De Rossi's €6.5m a year.
