Napoli warn Ajax's Amin Younes will be open to “financial and disciplinary” action if he tries to get out of his contract.
The winger has agreed to join the Partenopei from July 1, and his contract has already been deposited at the Lega Serie A.
However, it appears the German has now had a change of heart and doesn’t want to make the move to the San Paolo.
“First of all, what the player says cannot be separated from the agreements formalised with Napoli,” the club’s lawyer Mattia Grassani warned on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“The fact is that Napoli, during the transfer window, signed an agreement which starts on July 1, 2018, which was then filed correctly with the Lega.
“Whatever Younes’ feelings are, Napoli is the only club that holds the right to his sporting registration.
“If Younes decides to deviate from this agreement, he’ll assume all financial and disciplinary responsibility.
“It’s impossible for him to sign for another team, if he did that he’d be disqualified and would risk having to pay Napoli for financial damage.
“The new club would also be considered jointly and equally responsible. Today we hear that contracts, even signed, have a relative value.
“There is no doubt that the signatures of Younes are on a series of documents. I believe that if the player continues with his initiative, he will crash into a wall unless everything happens on Napoli’s terms.
“The renewal clause? The 70 per cent [of games played for Ajax] hadn’t been met when Napoli signed him. The clause in question has therefore lapsed and cannot affect his future.”
