Napoli are ready to welcome Hamed Junior Traore and have booked in the forward’s medicals ahead of his move from Bournemouth.

The Partenopei have agreed to sign the 23-year-old Ivorian forward on a six-month loan deal with a €25m buy option attached. They’ll only have to pay a loan fee should they decide not to make the player’s stay permanent in the summer.

Traore emerged as an exciting talent at Sassuolo, where he scored 18 goals and provided 11 assists in 111 games, but never managed to find his footing with Bournemouth after making the move to the Premier League last year.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Traore will undergo his medicals with Napoli on Tuesday this week before putting pen to paper on his contract.

The defending champions are currently in Saudi Arabia ahead of their Supercoppa Italiana commitments, giving the Ivorian winger some time to settle before the club’s next Serie A game against Lazio on January 28.

Traore hardly featured for Bournemouth this season, seeing just 181 minutes of action across six appearances. He briefly suffered from a bout of malaria.
